Dr. Angela Allen-Peck joins Clinical Psychology Associates of North Central Florida as a psychology resident under the supervision of Dr. Bordini. She completed her doctorate in clinical psychology at Wheaton College in Chicago, IL. Dr. Allen-Peck completed her American Psychological Association-accredited internship training in adult general psychology at one of the nation’s top psychiatric hospitals, the Institute of Living/Hartford Hospital, in Hartford, CT.
Angela Allen-Peck, Psy.D. has extensive training and experience providing counseling and psychotherapy for a range of psychological issues, including depression, issues of identity, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and sexual disorders.
Her psychotherapeutic approach involves helping adults and adolescents discover their natural resiliencies so they can better cope with stress and crises. Her focus includes developing coping skills and helping individuals to thrive.
Formal training in the integration of psychology and spirituality has led her to n appreciation of all of th influences that impact individuals including religious, gender, cultural and/or sexual orientation. She has provided assistance for a number of women’s issues including intimacy and sexuality, post-partum depression, identity issues, adolescent self-image, and providing therapeutic assistance to individuals who have been victims of abuse or domestic violence.
Dr. Allen-Peck has clinical and research experience involving building resiliency in marital relationships. She has training and experience providing pre-marital counseling, marital therapy, and relationship counseling. Dr. Allen-Peck’s research interests include the impact of social support on resiliency, psychodynamic psychology, and identity cohesiveness during times of crisis or transition.
In addition to her clinical training, Angela has served as an adjunct faculty member at Judson University and as a graduate teaching assistant in psychological assessment and clinical training.
Dr. Allen-Peck is a member of the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis, the largest U.S. organization for health and mental health care professionals using clinical hypnosis. She is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and the APA Division of Psychoanalysis.
Many of our Clinical Psychology Associates of North Central Florida staff have served on community and professional boards and organizations. Angela Allen-Peck Psy.D. has served as Vice President of the Advisement Board of Global Adoptions. She also has served on the Graduate Psychology Student Association (GPSA) Clinical Training and Admissions and Academic Requirements committees and was a GPSA Admissions, Selection and Interview Student Representative.
