Marcie Wiseman Ph.D., completed her doctoral dissertation at the University of Florida Counseling Psychology program. She is now completing her psychology residency under the supervision of Dr. Bordini with Clinical Psychology Associates of North Central Florida. She will be seeing patients in our Gainesville and Ocala offices.
Dr. Marcie Wiseman has a broad counseling background which has involved assessment, individual, group and relationship counseling. She has a number of areas of special interest including adjustment and career issues, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, body image concerns, and diversity and LGBT issues.
Marcie Wiseman, Ph.D.. has been very active in participating in community awareness and collaboration with organizational leadership in terms of prevention and cultural and sexual diversity issues. This has included organizing depression screenings, increasing wellness presentations, eating disorder awareness activities, and obtained practicum experience at the University of Florida Career Counseling Center helping students with career choices.
Marcie Wiseman, Ph.D.. has been interested in women’s issues, female college athletes, and the impact of domestic violence on women and children. She has experience and training at the Rape Crisis/Domestic Violence Shelter of Marion County, and the
Peaceful
Paths
Domestic
Violence
Center.
Her expertise in her areas of interest is highlighted by her publications involving eating disorder issues, diversity issues, feminism, gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) issues, as well as publications involving eating issues in athletes, self-esteem issues and objectification theory.
Teaching experience includes having been a graduate teaching assistant and graduate instructor at the University of Florida for Theories of Personality and Abnormal Psychology.Dr. Wiseman has had leadership roles such as serving as Assistant Director for Diversity Programs and Global Education at the
